EMPTY NESTERS

Time seems to be going faster and faster. Spencer and Amber have been married for over a month, and about 1 1/2 weeks after that, Jackie moved down to UVU for the semester. (probably the year, or longer who knows) It seems very weird to not have anyone checking in at night. You would think that we have big plans, travel, play, travel, play. Nope Just work and more work. Someday I hope to be able to travel and play a little bit more. I have really reflected on my family, growing up and the type of people they have become. I am so proud of them. They are making good decisions, and raising good families of there own. I am truley greatful for the gospel. Thanks friends and family for always being there for me!!!! Your the best.

The Race

I really had a great time running the 5k with Melissa, Aubrey and Jackie on Sat. May 16th!! I didn't think Jackie would want to run very slow, so I wasn't surprised when as soon as the race started she took off. Aubrey also started out on a quicker pace than I wanted to go, but it's nice when you have someone to push you a little bit more than what you think you can go. We did have some miscommunication with the volenteer who forgot to direct us on the right path, so we ended up going 4 miles, instead of the 5k, a little further than mentally we thought we could do, plus it was a little bit of a shock to the legs!!! It was nice to have family there at the finish line because it is kind of emotional. So if anyone thinks they can't do something, just remember "WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!!!!!!"

Where In The World Is Auntie M?

So, no I haven't fallen off the planet, I am still around, but for some reason just got a little pre-occupied. I am really glad that Spencer is home from his mission!! I know that it has been quite the adjustment on him. I hope that he will be able to find work soon. So if anybody knows of a job please let him or me know. Richard and I will celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary tomorrow!!! Wow, were has the time gone? I sure love and appreciate all that he does for our family!! I am so lucky to have him, he has put up with alot!!!! I have started to run a little more than I used to. That has really been a help mentally for me. Melissa and I ran in the 5k cancer run on the 17th of April. It was really alot of fun. I was suprised that in my age bracket I came in 15th, (not to bad). On May 16th, Melissa, Aubrey, Jackie and I are going to run in the 5k in Draper race-signs for the deaf. They will have the person from signing times there, I can't remember her name. I look forward running with my girls!!!!

Happy B-Day Spencer

Even though Spencer probably won't see this I still wanted to wish him a happy b-day. I was afraid that he wouldn't get his package, it was sent on the 8th to the mission home, then they forwarded it to his address in Bakersfield, But when I was following the tracking, they said that it was still in Ventura and it takes 15-22 days to forward to another address, well I new that transfer day was going to be on his b-day and if he didn't get it on his b-day he probably wouldn't get it till Christmas. I know this sounds kind of silly, but I wanted him to get something on his b-day from his family, it made me sick to think that he wouldn't have anything from us. However, I knew that the members would take good care of him, which his land lady was taking them out to dinner. So this morning when I got up I prayed for a miracle( one of those tender mercies I needed) when Spencer e-mailed us at 12:30 he said he didn't get the package, I was so sad, but still was hoping that he hadn't received mail yet, well when I checked the tracking when I came home from work it said that it had been delivered in Bakersfiled at 2:30. Heavenly Father really does care about the little things and how much a mom wanted to bad to have his son know that his family loves him alot!

Full Of Thankfulness

I have been in deep thought recently(scary huh) about the many blessing that I have in my life. I am so glad that I have such a wonderful family and friends. They are all so supportive and really give me strength! As most of you are aware my mother in law has recently passed away. I am so thankful for the many lessons she taught me and helping to open my mind and heart to things I would have never experienced. She was a great teacher for our children and helped them to always laugh. But most of all she taught us her true love of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love her simple testimony. She will continue to be missed.
I love how when things get tough, you know that your family truly cares. Kids, and grandkids bring alot of smiles and laughter. I appreciate my nieces and how much I learn from them. The phone calls and the many times of reminissing, it brings alot of added strength. There was a talk given in church not to long ago about remembering and how we have alot of the knowledge, we just need to continue to remember.
Thanks everybody for your love and prayers

I Love My New Job

I have now been at my new job for a month. I really love working with the kids!!!! They are so funny and really make me laugh. We had a 3 year old come in that the mom told us he had alot of cavities, as Dr. Mark was looking around he did find quite a few, he then asked the little boy what we need to do now? The 3 year old said, "Well, were going to schedule another appointment and come back to have em fixed!" It was pretty funny. Yes I would rather be home, but I'm glad that I have the opportunity to work with the kids. I even got to see Shelby the other day! She did a GREAT JOB!!!!! Thanks fam for your support, it means alot.

My quirky things

O.k. Linetta, I'm finally blogging about quirky things. I'm sure my family could think of alot more, but here goes-

1. Whenever I go to the store, I always look at the price and make sure the clerk rings it up correctly. I can't tell you how many times they get it wrong, but I am able to memorize the price of each item. ( I know this can be good)

2. I sneeze everytime I am to full, or if I have to much milk in the morining, and not just 1 sneeze, were talking about 10-25 sneezes, and yes I have Grandpa Moyes' sneeze.

3. I am a time freak, I hate to be late and drive my family nuts because I am constantly telling them they need to get up and get ready. Yes this drives them nuts, but they have put up with it.

4. I help memorize spelling of words by rhythm or use hand motions when helping my kids memorize a scripture or the articles of faith.

I'm sure there are more, but there you have it.
