Happy B-Day Spencer

Even though Spencer probably won't see this I still wanted to wish him a happy b-day. I was afraid that he wouldn't get his package, it was sent on the 8th to the mission home, then they forwarded it to his address in Bakersfield, But when I was following the tracking, they said that it was still in Ventura and it takes 15-22 days to forward to another address, well I new that transfer day was going to be on his b-day and if he didn't get it on his b-day he probably wouldn't get it till Christmas. I know this sounds kind of silly, but I wanted him to get something on his b-day from his family, it made me sick to think that he wouldn't have anything from us. However, I knew that the members would take good care of him, which his land lady was taking them out to dinner. So this morning when I got up I prayed for a miracle( one of those tender mercies I needed) when Spencer e-mailed us at 12:30 he said he didn't get the package, I was so sad, but still was hoping that he hadn't received mail yet, well when I checked the tracking when I came home from work it said that it had been delivered in Bakersfiled at 2:30. Heavenly Father really does care about the little things and how much a mom wanted to bad to have his son know that his family loves him alot!

Full Of Thankfulness

I have been in deep thought recently(scary huh) about the many blessing that I have in my life. I am so glad that I have such a wonderful family and friends. They are all so supportive and really give me strength! As most of you are aware my mother in law has recently passed away. I am so thankful for the many lessons she taught me and helping to open my mind and heart to things I would have never experienced. She was a great teacher for our children and helped them to always laugh. But most of all she taught us her true love of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love her simple testimony. She will continue to be missed.
I love how when things get tough, you know that your family truly cares. Kids, and grandkids bring alot of smiles and laughter. I appreciate my nieces and how much I learn from them. The phone calls and the many times of reminissing, it brings alot of added strength. There was a talk given in church not to long ago about remembering and how we have alot of the knowledge, we just need to continue to remember.
Thanks everybody for your love and prayers

I Love My New Job

I have now been at my new job for a month. I really love working with the kids!!!! They are so funny and really make me laugh. We had a 3 year old come in that the mom told us he had alot of cavities, as Dr. Mark was looking around he did find quite a few, he then asked the little boy what we need to do now? The 3 year old said, "Well, were going to schedule another appointment and come back to have em fixed!" It was pretty funny. Yes I would rather be home, but I'm glad that I have the opportunity to work with the kids. I even got to see Shelby the other day! She did a GREAT JOB!!!!! Thanks fam for your support, it means alot.

My quirky things

O.k. Linetta, I'm finally blogging about quirky things. I'm sure my family could think of alot more, but here goes-

1. Whenever I go to the store, I always look at the price and make sure the clerk rings it up correctly. I can't tell you how many times they get it wrong, but I am able to memorize the price of each item. ( I know this can be good)

2. I sneeze everytime I am to full, or if I have to much milk in the morining, and not just 1 sneeze, were talking about 10-25 sneezes, and yes I have Grandpa Moyes' sneeze.

3. I am a time freak, I hate to be late and drive my family nuts because I am constantly telling them they need to get up and get ready. Yes this drives them nuts, but they have put up with it.

4. I help memorize spelling of words by rhythm or use hand motions when helping my kids memorize a scripture or the articles of faith.

I'm sure there are more, but there you have it.

MY FAMILY

I have been so greatful for my family and all of the support that I feel from them. I have had 3 jobs in the last 2 years going on now 4. Yes another midlife evaluation. I'm going back to my love of working with kids in dentistry. I received a call about a week ago asking if I would like to get back into dentistry, the offer was to good to pass up. So my family again is excited for me even though they might be thinking, " Oh please can you make up your mind already!!! "
So thanks for your support!

I'm sitting here looking at recipies that my mom had, and on the front of my book is a picture of my mom sticking her tongue out, boy how I miss that! So here goes with some of the things that my mom thought was important to know about having the basics. Yes you can always run out to the store, or can you? If you don't have any unsweetened chocolate? use 3 Tb. unsweetened cocoa plus 1 T. shortening. No vanila extract? flavor a dessert or batter with grated lemon or orange rind and lemon juice or 1/4 t. nutmeg for each vanilla extract it calls for or a dusting of cinnamon. No buttermilk or Sour milk? add 1 T. vinegar or lemon jusice plus enoug fresh milk to make 2 cup and let stand for 5 min. Then finally, no sour cream? get out your cottage cheese, put it in your blender, mix with a little lemon juice, and a small amount of sugar less than a tsp.
Its great adding it to a gravy. Who knows when you might find yourself needing some corn syrup, use 1 cup of sugar pluse 1/4 cup water or liquid called for in the recipe. This has been a great help to me. And for those that don't have the book of grandma Moyes' recipies, let me know, I will get it to you.
